Practical tools. Better workshops.
You know what needs fixing.
Let’s make it easier to start.
Tools that are hard to find. Stock records you’re not sure you can trust. Getting organised shouldn’t have to become another project you never get time for.
We turn hands-on experience into practical 5S and stock control tools—so you can spend less time building a system and more time putting it to work.
You don’t have to start from scratch
If these problems brought you here, you’re in the right place.
You might already know what needs attention. The difficult part is finding time to decide where to start, put a routine together and keep it going while the daily work carries on.
That’s why Lean Tools AU exists. We’ve brought practical guidance, checklists and working Excel tools together to help you take that next step.
Start with one problem. Use a structure that’s already prepared. Build from there.
You still lead the work. Our tools give you a clearer way to organise it, involve your team and follow through.
Where do you need a hand?
Choose the problem getting in your way.
5S Workshop Starter Kit
Make a tidy workshop more than a one-day effort.
The bench gets cleared. Tools go back. For a while, everything looks better. Then jobs get busy, items move and the same searching starts again.
Another tidy-up won’t give everyone a shared routine. The 5S kit helps you assess an area, agree what needs improving and keep checking that the changes hold.
- 01Know where to begin.
Use the baseline audit to assess one work area and identify what needs attention, rather than trying to reorganise everything at once.
- 02Turn observations into action.
Record improvements with an owner and a target date, so the team knows what needs doing and who is taking it forward.
- 03Keep the organisation going.
Use the weekly checklist and repeat audits to review the area. The workbook scores your audits and compares the baseline with the latest assessment.
Less searching. Less repeating the same tidy-up. A practical routine your team can work with.
Reducing time spent searching and repeating work helps reduce operating waste. The kit gives you the starting structure; the results come from putting it into practice.
What does getting started look like?
Choose one bench, storage area or part of the workshop. Read the practical guide, complete its baseline audit and record the actions your team agrees to take. Use the checklist to review the area between audits.
Stock Control Kit
Stop piecing your stock information together.
A job needs a part. The record says it’s available, but you can’t find it. Now someone needs to look, count and work out whether it was moved, used or never recorded.
When item details, locations, counts and follow-up notes are scattered, checking one problem can become a job of its own.
The Stock Control Kit gives you a ready-to-use structure for keeping those records together, supported by a practical method and location addressing guides.
- 01Give your stock a clearer starting point.
Maintain an item register with locations and quantity information. Set minimum levels and use the workbook’s stock status to see items that need attention.
- 02Check the record against the shelf.
Record a physical count and compare it with the recorded quantity. The workbook calculates differences in units and value.
- 03Keep the next action visible.
Log issues with a cause, action, responsible person and due date. The workbook flags overdue actions when it recalculates and summarises key information on the Dashboard.
A clearer view of what you have, where to look and what needs attention next.
Better information helps you check before ordering, spot replenishment needs and investigate differences. That supports decisions that reduce avoidable buying, searching and disruption.
What does getting started look like?
Start with a group of items that regularly causes trouble. Use the location guide to plan their addresses, enter the items in the workbook and record a count. Add follow-up actions for differences that need investigation.
You enter and maintain quantities yourself. This is not an ERP, barcode system or automatic stock-movement service.
Need help with both?
Organise the workplace.
Get a clearer view of the stock.
The 5S tools help you assess and maintain the work area. The stock tools help you organise item records, locations, counts and follow-up.
Two separate kits that support the same goal. They do not automatically connect or exchange data.

Built from facing these problems first-hand.
I’m Diego, founder of Lean Tools AU. After more than 15 years working with businesses around the world, I know how easily improvement work gets pushed aside when the daily workload takes over.
I created Lean Tools AU to turn that experience into practical, affordable tools for small businesses—so you don’t have to create every guide, checklist and workbook yourself.
My aim is simple: help more teams organise their workplaces, reduce waste and save money, one practical step at a time.

A few practical questions
Know what you’re getting.
What do I need to use the kits?
Microsoft Excel for the workbooks and a PDF reader for the guides. No macros or add-ins are needed.
How do I receive the files?
After payment, you return to a confirmation page with your download links. Links are valid for 15 minutes; refresh the confirmation page to generate new ones if needed.
Can my team use them?
Yes, within your own organisation. Internal working copies are allowed. Resale or sharing with other businesses is not.
Will the tools do the work for us?
Your team enters the information and carries out the actions. The guides provide a method, and the workbooks calculate the supported scores, statuses and summaries. Outcomes depend on how you use the tools.
You don’t need to fix everything today.
